Yemenite Jewellery

In Ancient Yemen, a person who wanted a piece of jewellery would give five silver coins to the silversmith. Three coins were melted for the jewel itself and the two other coins were the jeweller’s fee. After two days of preparing the silver into threads and small silver domes, the jewellery was crafted in another day. Our own Ben Zion David, an eighth generation Yemenite silversmith, still uses these ancient methods to craft his amazing jewellery, albeit slightly more advanced than his grandfathers!
